I started work on a new font today. I'm trying to craft an elegant mid-century modern display face. The look of the font is inspired by a 60s mod era General Electric clock that belonged to my wife's grandmother. Natureally, then, the numbers are strongest in my mind so that's where I started.I worked on the 4 and the 3 this morning.
It's possible this little font will only be numbers, dashes, and misc. symbols with no alphabet. We'll see where my sketches end up. Even so, I'm loving the look of these numerals and it'll be fun to use them in some posters or infographics.
The font doesn't have a name so far, but given the direction of the work so far I'm called it the Mod Numbers Project. Stay tuned for more updates.
